Thank you to all our volunteers who came out Thursday, March 5 to serve lunch. Everyone was greeted with a warm meal and prayer. Volunteers were able to minister to several families in need. All extra meals were packaged up and delivered to subsidized housing units at Cumberland View and Cheatham Place on Rosa Parks. We also delivered over 400 flashlights to people in housing units who were without power.

Here is a letter from MDHA:

We appreciate so much the efforts of you and the other staff members at NFB along with all the volunteers who were prepared to serve our displaced residents.  Unfortunately, it was difficult to predict how many would respond to the invitation and we are disappointed that there was not a better response.

Please know that the food was distributed to two other sites that have been without power since Tuesday night. You all went above and beyond to pack up the food for us so we could get it to folks who have limited transportation and resources.

You and our friends at NFB have been a light of hope for us here at MDHA as we work together to assure our families are safe and provided for during these difficult days.

Just saying thank you does not express how much you all are appreciated but thank you!

Sincerely,

Teri Williams
