Dear Church Family,

In consultation with our Deacon and Trustee Chair, and out of concern for the safety and well-being of our church family, community members, and guests, Nashville First Baptist Church has made the decision to cancel the Worship Services and all activities this Sunday, March 15. All church activities and meetings through Friday, March 20, will also be canceled.

You are probably aware that our Governor has asked that gatherings where over 100 elderly people might be present be suspended. The Basketball Tournament next door has been canceled, the NBA and NHL have both suspended play. Schools are closed. Hospitals and other care facilities have significantly limited access to the public. This is a serious situation and we are trying to be proactive, not reactive in our care and concern for the safety and well-being of our members.

Gary Morgan and I recorded a message from our text in John 11 for you that I trust you will make time to watch this Sunday. A link will be posted on our church website at https://nashvillefirst.org/streaming-and-sermons/ as well as on our Facebook feed. We hope that you know how much we care for and love you. Please stay anchored in God’s Word, pray for your church and those in our world who are trying to find a cure or a treatment, and be wise as you go about your daily routines in the days ahead. A decision will be made for the next week by Wednesday, March 18.

Obviously, we depend on your faithful giving and generous contributions during this time. Our church continues to operate on the faithful tithes and offerings of our members. Whether you give on-line or would mail your contributions in this week, I thank you in advance.

If you have a pastoral care emergency, please contact any one of our ministers by phone or by email.

I pray Psalm 103:1-5 over each of you in these days:

Bless the Lord, O my soul,

and all that is within me,

bless his holy name!

Bless the Lord, O my soul,

and forget not all his benefits,

who forgives all your iniquity,

who heals all your diseases,

who redeems your life from the pit,

who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,

who satisfies you with good

so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
