Dr. Fred Heifner was recently awarded the Virginia and Guy Thackston Liberal Arts Professorship at Cumberland University. This is the first professorship to be awarded in the 178-year history of the school, and came from the Thackston Family Foundation.
He has taught the students of Cumberland University for 24 years in the fields of anthropology, philosophy, and religion, and has led an experiential learning trip across the Southwestern United States for the past 23 years.
Dr. Heifner has been a member of Nashville First since 1976. He and his wife Jo Ann are active in the Abundant Life department. Cumberland University and Nashville First are proud to have the Heifners as part of our families.
