Fall Festival FAQ’s
It’s time to get your costumes ready and invite a friend! You don’t want to miss all the fun at Fall Festival 2024 THIS Sunday at Nashville First!
Will there be a place to register? Yes! As you arrive, please stop by the First Kids’ welcome desk to complete a registration card, one per household. At 1:45, we will use these cards to draw door prizes! Door prizes include: $100 Amazon gift card, Amazon Fire 7 Kids tablet, $50 Chick-fil-A gift card.
Will there be food? Definitely! Following worship, we will have a free lunch in the Broadway chapel with grilled hotdogs, chips, caramel apples, cookies, and drinks along with chili tasting from the 2024 Chili Cook-Off. The football game will be on the giant screen so everyone can cheer on our home team, and a cakewalk will take place during every commercial break through halftime. Lunch will be served until 1:45 or while supplies last. Fresh popcorn and cotton candy will also be served outdoors starting at 12:30.
What should I do if I want to participate in the Chili Cook-Off? Please bring your chili in a crockpot along with a ladle and drop it off at the First Kids desk on Floor 1 before 11:15 a.m. We will ask you to complete a card listing the main ingredients for allergy concerns and dietary restrictions. If you need help carrying your chili, you may drop it off on the cart located along McGavock, but please make sure to stop by to complete the registration card. Judging will take place at 11:30 a.m. and prizes will be awarded at 1:30 p.m. First Place: the ‘golden’ ladle and $100 gift card; Second Place: the ‘silver’ ladle and $50 gift card; Third Place: the ‘bronze’ ladle and $25 gift card. If you plan to participate, please register through Realm.
What should I do if I’m bringing a baked treat for the Cakewalk? Please bring your treat in a dish that will go home with the winner and drop it off at the First Kids desk on Floor 1 before noon. We will ask you to complete a card listing the main ingredients for allergy concerns and dietary restrictions. If you need help carrying your baked treat, you may drop it off on the cart located along McGavock, but please make sure to stop by to complete the registration card. Any bakery treat is accepted, not just cakes – homemade or store bought. A cakewalk will take place in the Broadway Chapel during every commercial break through halftime of the football game. If you plan to bake a treat, please register through Realm.
What kind of special activities will there be outdoors? From 12:30 – 2:30 p.m., we will have pony rides, a rock-climbing tower, bounce houses, a giant slide, a mega obstacle course, face painting, a dozen carnival games, and lots of candy as prizes. We will also have fresh popped popcorn and cotton candy!
Will there be anything indoors? Yes! Indoors from 12:30 -2:30 p.m., we will have two caricature artists, a balloon artist, and a photo booth.
Is everything free? Yes!
Can we wear costumes? Of course! Costumes are totally optional but welcome. Kids can wear their costumes to church or change after church. Titans gear is welcome, too!
Will there be bags if we forget our trick-or-treat bags? Yes, treat bags will be located at the First Kids’ welcome desk.
Where should I bring candy donations? Please bring bags of individually wrapped candy to the First Kids’ welcome desk.
Can we still sign up to volunteer? Yes! First Kids’ volunteers, please register through Realm. or contact Shannon Meadors.
I am a volunteer, now what? Please check in with Mary Bunn at the First Kids’ welcome desk ten minutes before your start time to receive instructions and a volunteer badge.
Parking changes & Drive-thru Closure: The Broadway drive-thru will be completely closed this Sunday for the setup and preparation of Fall Festival activities. The tunnel drop-off will not be accessible. If you need to drop someone off, we recommend pulling up to the entrance by Door 6 off McGavock. Also, if you typically park in the gated handicapped lot of McGavock, that will be closed. There will be additional handicapped parking spaces available and marked off in Lot C. Lots A & B will remain open as usual. Our Holy Roller will also be operational to bring you up to the church from the Lots.
