PhD

Dr. Abbie Sumrall Nelson, daughter of Rusty and Becky Sumrall, graduated from Michigan State University on April 26 with a PhD in Social Work . Abbie is currently teaching at MSU. On August 1 Abbie begins a new job as Tenure track Assistant Professor of Social Work at Southeast Missouri State University.

SEMINARY

Valerie Williams Bowen, of Tallahassee, Florida, daughter of Mike and Catherine Williams, graduated May 10 from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary with a postgraduate certificate in Lifespan Evangelism, with an emphasis in Children’s Ministry.

MASTER DEGREES

Caroline Grace Scudder, daughter of Tommy and Donna Scudder, graduated in December from Lipscomb University with a Master of Fine Arts in Cinematic Arts

Lora Thornburg, daughter of Bob and Mary Bunn, graduated with a Master of Arts in Clinical Health Management from the University of Tennessee Chattanooga

Ethan Conn, son of Michelle and Joe Ed Conn, graduated from Harding University with a Bachelor of Arts in multimedia journalism

Max Dean, son of Joey and Emily Dean, graduated from the University of Tennessee’s Haslam College of Business

Spencer Dunn, son of Brad and Melanie Dunn, graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering with a minor in Business Analytics. He will be going to work in Atlanta for Manhattan Associates in August.

James Anthony Galloway, son of John and Sarah Galloway, graduated from The University of Kentucky, with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Bachelor of Science in Finance

Hannah Hitchcock, daughter of Shane and Leigh Hitchcock, graduated from St Louis University on May 17, 2024. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Geology. She plans to attend Western Washington University in the Fall for her Master’s.

William McNeilly, son of Warner and Amy McNeilly graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Finance

Sammy Schrecker, daughter of Scott and Melody Schrecker, graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from Belmont University.

Abigail (Abby) Tune, daughter of John and Angie Tune, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from the University of Tennessee Knoxville

Blair Wheeler, daughter of Steve and Leslie Wheeler, graduated in December with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Samford University. She is pursuing a doctorate in Physical Therapy at Samford.

Sophie Wheeler, daughter of Steve and Leslie Wheeler, graduated in May with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration: Digital Marketing and Advertising with a minor in Biblical Studies from Liberty University.
